O's 25th Anniversary Celebration

Venture back to 1983 with the Orioles and celebrate the 25th anniversary of their World Series championship. More than 20 players and coaches from the 1983 team, including Cal Ripken Jr. and Jim Palmer, will greet fans as they enter the park and sign autographs on the lower concourse throughout the game. Get there early, because the first 25,000 fans get a 1983 World Series 25th Anniversary pennant, 500 of which are autographed by an '83 team member. Fans may also have their pictures taken with the World Series trophy throughout the game. ()

Gang Gang Dance

Gang Gang Dance

Trying to explain Gang Gang Dance as a band is like trying to explain dark matter--it's something, it's observable, but "band" is really just in place of whatever designation hasn't come into being yet. To put it another way, GGD is the sort of rock by default--but really in between and among a whole bunch of other genres--band that can both wind up in the Whitney Biennial and get remixed by XXXchange. Odd junkyard percussion, ambient sound, gravitationally challenged electronics, it often adds up into something quite pretty, if tough to define, let alone parse. (Michael Byrne)

$10. The Ottobar, Baltimore.

Baltimore Free Store Donation Collection

Not to be bossy or anything, but we need to see you at this Baltimore Free Store donation collection if you've had the pleasure and sometimes pain of planning to do or have already done any of the following this summer: move, get married, go to a yard sale/flea market, sell stuff at a yard sale/flea market, drive by yard sale/flea market, get a divorce, have a kid, watch some one else's kid, get your heart broken, clean out your garage, go on vacation, cook a pie, or go to Target. BFS will take your nicer crap this afternoon (July 26 too) and give it away free to those who want/need it 11 a.m.-2 p.m. July 19 (not you). Pack your trunk and free up your life and space for more of what's really important: good times. ()

E-Cycling

After getting your hands on an iPhone, you may still be wondering what on earth you'll do with your surplus "oh-so-five-minutes-ago" celly and iPod. The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and Whole Foods team up to host an electronic recycling event to answer your woes. Whether it be the crash-happy, virus-ridden laptop you've given up on or the old-school monitor from the defunct family PC, e-cycling recovers valuable materials from decrepit electronic equipment that can be used to make new products. This process also prevents toxic materials in the equipment, such as lead and mercury, from going into landfills. You can do your part to protect the environment by contributing just a handful of unwanted wires or cables, fax machines, printers, and the like. The one drawback is that they won't take that retired bulky TV off your hands. ()

Free. Whole Foods Market, Baltimore.
